Beginning in January 2023, I began adding collage to pages in day planners. I wanted to experiment with the combination of papers, pencils, markers, wax crayons and acrylic paint.
This exercise has evolved into a daily ritual of creativity. I am still creating pages, today, in 2026.
I celebrate the “value of pausing” and play each day—ten to thirty minutes— to add an element, draw and color a background, or compose a quick collage with the scraps on my drawing table. Many of these collages evolve over the course of days or weeks, adding bits of ephemera until I am convinced the composition is complete.
Presented here are seven spreads of the approximately 200+ I have created to date.
